This short was filmed entirely at my grandmother' house alongside absolutely beautiful animations by my good friend Alyssa Smedley.

We had a fairly simple set-up. Tavis Pinnington was the cinematographer and shot on his Panasonic GH5 in 4K using an Atomos Shogun.

I recorded audio on a Zoom H4n using a Rode NTG-2 microphone plus Boompole and a Sony lapel microphone.

We took stylistic inspiration from the comedy television show 'Drunk History'. We wanted earthy tones in the background and bright blues, reds, and pinks to draw focus to Grandma in the foreground.

We wanted the style of the animations to match the footage, too. Alyssa created adorable character designs and applied a worn, 'scratchy' style to the overall look. We also sourced images of floral, woolen, and knitted fabrics to use for the character's clothing.
